I just had the pleasure of reading Catherine Mann’s newest book in her Elite Force series called “Free Fall”.
I’ll admit that I spent the first ten minutes holding this book with a paper towel in my hand as I wiped off the drool from my mouth. The cover of the hero is smoking hot and so was the well developed alpha male character in the book.
Sergeant Jose “Cuervo” James is a PJ, Military Special Forces trained pararescueman , also known at parajumpers, came with a lot of baggage dogging his future. He has fallen in love with a woman who wants what he feels he can’t give her.
Interpol Agent Stella Carson comes with a little baggage of her own after growing up with a mother who worked for the Peace Corp and died in Africa when Stella was fifteen years old. Stella knows that she has met her soul mate at first glance after she and fellow agents plucked Jose and his team out of the Arabian Sea. No matter what she does or says to convince Jose that she’s her Mr. Right, he just can’t buy into it because he’s too busy running from his own demons. Stella stays true to her belief in Jose as she works toward finding the truth about her mother’s death.
Jose and Stella’s story fills the pages from the beginning with tons of action and adventure from sea rescues, to kidnapped hostages rescue to government traitors and foiled attempts of murder/suicides. All of which takes place in Africa.
I love a great military romance with a well rounded Alpha Male and a tough heroine who can take care of herself and Ms. Mann delivers, again.
