What is the working title of your next
book?
Into the Darkness
Where did the idea come from for the
book?
This idea came from the dark recesses of my
warped mind. I awoke July 7th, 2009 and hit the keyboard hard and heavy until July
31st, 2009. I have always been a huge fan of vampires (something that drives hubby crazy since he hates them). To me vampires would
make an awesome hero. They are dark, mysterious, and oh so sexy. So why not?!? However, they needed strong heroines. Practicing a nature based belief system, I wanted to give my stories a twist that only I could give them. So witches became
the only solid choice for my heroines.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Raven never believed she was anything other than mortal, until that fateful night when
her world comes crashing down, bringing to her fingertips the fate of two very
different worlds, vampires and witches.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
It is contracted with Soul Mate Publishing and currently in edits for publication.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
25 days. I know sounds like torture. Writing a complete 80,000+ word manuscript in 25 days but I did it as a challenge to myself. I gave myself a goal and
stuck to it. I wasn’t so sure survival was an option that month, for me or my family, but survive we did, :) The reason behind the goal was up to that point I wasn’t so sure I could handle the demands that go with published authors. So I awoke that July
morning with a story in my head and a decision to be made. Test my own abilities.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I’m going to say I know of no other book in my genre that would describe Into the
Darkness. It is a unique read only holding common ground with the idea that vampires and witches have been written about before in romance.
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Besides testing my abilities as a writer, I also wanted to test my boundaries. Before writing Into the Darkness I always stayed on the sweet side of the fence when writing.
So for me, Into the Darkness took me outside of my writing comfort zone and into a completely different world. It was time to take this step (or at least that is what I told
myself).
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Into the Darkness is a new twist on ancient characters, vampires and witches. Within its pages you will find a story a bit different than your normal vampire story. It is a coming of age story, with Raven, a mix of witch and vampire, finding out she is not the mortal girl she thought she was, but a power to be reckoned with in both the witch and vampire worlds and how she learns with power also comes consequences.
It is a story of passion, love, and desire. Of soul mates finding one another.
It is also a story of family, even as strange as they come. Loyalty, unbreakable family ties, and the bonds that not only keep them together, but bind them in life.
It takes you into the world of witches, giving insight into their realm.
