How do you celebrate the Holiday Season?
There used to be a time when my husband and I would watch our little boys playing with their toys on the floor or watching their favorite shows on TV, Barney, The Big Comfy Couch and Pokémon and we KNEW what they would be getting for Christmas!
Our oldest was a Big Pokémon lover and he soon turned into a Super Mario Brother’s fan. He’s 19 years old now and he’s still a fan of Mario and Luigi.
Our middle one had two stuffed dolls that he carried around him like a child would carry a security blanket with him for comfort. It was the best Christmas gift for him because he took them everywhere for 2 or 3 years. Barney and Molly would go to day care with him when he was 2 years and around the time he was 4 ½ years old, he didn’t need them as much.
Our youngest was a car fanatic. Anything and everything cars were what he wanted and is what he got.
Now that they are older, what they want can’t be easily picked up at stores these days. They are orderable and hugely expensive.
Our family tradition is that on Christmas Eve, we’d head out to Grandma and Grandpa’s house (Hubby’s parents) for a yummy Italian meal with all of the aunts, uncles and cousins, and we’ve done this without fail for over twenty years and it’s something that I’ve always looked forward to.
How I would love to go back and capture all of those wonderful memories again.
