So, I’ve been working on a new book in the paranormal genre. It’s an interracial romance specifically targeted for a couple of publishers that I have in mind. What I usually do when starting a new book is first write the idea down and begin “fleshing” it out with characters (names, personalities) and then I work on creating the conflict and plot. And when I have time, I begin writing the book while creating more story as I go.
Some people are “Plotters” (outliners) and some are “Pantster” (write by the seat of your pants). I’m a Plantster and I love it.
What I typically don’t do is write out of order but within the past week I’ve found myself doing that twice. I wrote two complete scenes that take place later in the book. I couldn’t help it so I had to write it. These scenes were so vivid in my head that I was afraid that just writing notes about it, wouldn’t do the real scene any justice in the book so I wrote it in its entirety. AND I LOVE IT!
The problem, I think, arises in how I’m going to tie the scenes into the book.
Ooh, more fun times ahead.
