So I have this irrational fear of driving on bridges. Not to worry though, because this irrational fear keeps my other irrational fears company.
Heights, overflowing toilets, and Bees/Wasps.
I don’t know why I’m afraid of overflowing toilets but I’ve been since I was around the age of 6 years old. When I see the water rising close to the rim of the toilet, I run.
The bridge thing is new for me…within the last few years, I'd guess. It obviously, ties into my new-found fear of heights. I hyperventilate every time I drive across a bridge. What’s even stranger is that I’m not afraid when someone else drives across one while I’m in the car but if you put me behind the wheel, it’s not pretty.
To calm myself, I spew every swear word that comes to mind while gripping the steering wheel. The only problem is that only two words comes to mind-both four letters, with one vowel and three consonants.
My mother would be so proud….
I found this picture of a crazy ass bridge where people are actually allowed to drive on. But who would, right? Let’s get serious, here. That structure is barely being suspended by anything. Granted, there are a few broom stick looking things underneath, but what if the wind blows??
Does anyone else think this looks like one of the Saturn rings, thousands of miles above the earth? Where’s the safety net?
Crazy.
